busy bee
I've still been too busy to make any major updates to my site, which sucks! But at the same time, I'm not too bummed about it. I shouldn't feel pressured to do something I like. When I feel ready to go back to it, I will and that shouldn't be an issue.
So what have I been up to, exactly? Honestly, nothing exciting! I've mostly been exhausted by work which (without going into too much detail) involves building a lot of displays for the store. It's very physical! I can totally handle it, despite not being particularly strong or fit. And I'm honestly quite content with where I'm at at the moment.
When I haven't been working I've either been chipping away at art as usual or playing Coral Island. It's a cute farmsim that was recommended to me after I lamented about wanting to play Stardew Valley again but feeling like I exhausted it too much to play it again for an extended amount of time. Coral island is absolutely rectifying my problem! There are plenty of similarities to stardew valley (some of which make me do a double-take or laugh out loud) but honestly it still stands on it's own!
In particular, I love not only how many characters there are, but how different they all are. Given how many there are, I had lowered my expectations a bit, honestly expecting some characters to fall by the wayside. But so far, that hasn't been the case! I'm super excited to delve more into the game and I've got my sights set on Raj lol
This past weekend I went to a little mini comic con convention at my old college campus. We had one in the past while I attended and it was huge. Like the artist's alley took up our whole gym. But because of covid hitting campus activities really hard, this one had to be on a much smaller scale. I had a bit of an awkward run in with some people I don't talk to anymore but! I didn't let that ruin my day! Because a few of my artist friends were there!
Here is my humble little haul and of course I have to plug said artist friends like Nick and Nic, Ce and Sora. Please check them out! (and hopefully I didn't miss anyone!)
Again, it was small so there wasn't much. But I'm still incredibly happy that it happened! Here's hoping this is a positive sign for a future event! Bigger and better than ever!
I also dog sat this past weekend. My family has an adorable but rowdy rhodesian ridgeback mutt. And lately he's been chewing up the couch! We've made some progress since we got him last November, but there's still a lot of work to do and it's hard to figure out what exactly to do. I love the little guy to death though! and I know he loves me!
oh! I also dyed my hair again, as you can see in the linked photo! I went with red and I love it!
My current plans? Get through this particularly tiring work week to get to some art projects I gotta finish...and intersperse some Coral Island between it for some obligatory relax time B^)
