First Entry!
Hello hello! Welcome to my first blog entry!
I decided to make a little blog for my website so I have a dedicated little space to talk about the little going-ons of my life! Like what art or other activities I'm currently working or doing on. And it would also be pretty neat to have this as a way to keep track of all that and my progress!
It's going to be way different from my tumblr blog, which is mostly a space to share things I like (on my main) and my art (on my art blog). Basically, this is just a space for me to ramble!
What I will try to avoid doing is venting. I don't need to air out my dirty laundry online, I have personal journals for that heh. Most you'll probably get is mild complaining.
Ok, onwards to the Things I Have Been Doing!
01. working on my site!
I had been very hesitant about starting one, even though I thought it was the coolest thing ever and did want to make one. It seemed so intimidating! But I sat my butt down and took the plunge. ...and I'm having a BLAST!
I have so many ideas for pages and things I want to put on my website, I have to reign myself in so I don't get in over my head and burn myself out. One step at a time!
A huge thanks to my friend Mimi who has been the biggest inspiration behind me starting my own site. I saw her's and was like "whoa!!!"
02. I went to the library the other day and picked out a book.
It has been....a hot minute since I went to the library (〃´▽`〃)7 I actually haven't been since I got my name change, so I ended up getting a whole new card.
I picked out the Spiderverse Art of the Movie. It's filled with a bunch of concept art and sketches from one of my favorite movies. I love seeing the process behind art, what did and didn't make it, how one idea lead to the final product, etc. And it's all even more amazing considering how revolutionary the Spiderverse movie was for the animation industry.
I really like Peni Parker's page
Spider Noir has some great sketches on his pages too...
Now if only the artist behind this masterpiece and it's sequel were paid properly...
I absolutely love concept art books. I have one for Adventure time and I eventually want to get my hands on the ones for Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom and Splatoon 3. All three are such visually amazing games that are very near and dear to my heart!
03. Swamped with work
Unfortunately, I have not been posting as much art as I'd like recently. I've been pretty busy working on bigger art projects, like zines I'm part of. Which is obviously very exciting!! It just...yknow sucks when you don't have time for your own personal art.
But hey, I won't be working on these zines forever! they are a wonderful experience and I'm glad I have the time to participate in them to begin with!
To sort of balance myself out and make sure I don't get burnt out, I picked out a little coloring book for myself. It's sloth themed!
It's small but it's more-or-less one of those "adult coloring books" where things are a bit more detailed and some of the coloring spaces are smaller. I only work on a little bit at a time and that works for me :^)
04. It's the weekend!
so I plan on relaxing a bit. Still going to peck away at my art and site, but I definitely plan on spending most of my time participating in the splatfest! Go Team Love!!!
